Established in 2011, Asia University of Arts and Design (the predecessor of CMC University) is one of two universities in Vietnam that specialize in training undergraduate industrial designers. In 2021, the school made a breakthrough when it received strategic investment from CMC Corporation. Based on Decision No. 895/QĐ-TTg of the Prime Minister, Asia University of Arts and Design officially changed its name to CMC University on July 26, 2022. As a member of the Research & Education Division of CMC Corporation, CMC University is oriented to develop from a “Smart and Innovative University” in the period of 2022-2032, to a “Research University” (World class university) after 2032. The top goal of the school is to become a technology university with strong training areas in computer science, information systems, electronics and telecommunications, and other fields related to the requirements of science and technology development and digital economy of the whole country, with a medium-sized scale of 20 to 30 thousand students by 2039. With an investment of over one trillion dong in the first phase, CMC University prioritizes upgrading modern facilities, opening new majors, building a team of highly qualified lecturers, and supporting excellent students. CMC University is a progressive academic environment, with a focus on students, linking learning with practice, helping students to mature quickly through practice, to become people of action and subjects of creativity. Students of the school have the opportunity to intern at leading technology companies in Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, the United States, etc. Studying at the school also opens up employment opportunities at CMC Corporation, Samsung Group and CMC's global technology partners.
