The event was honored to have the presence of distinguished guests from CMC University including: Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh, the Principle of CMC University; Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Vice Principle, in charge of the Faculty of Information Technology and Telecommunications; Mr. Ho Nhu Hai, Vice Principle, along with over 300 lecturers and students from the Faculty of Information Technology and Telecommunications. As for the invited guests, there were Mr. Dang Tung Son, Deputy General Director of CMC Telecom, and Mr. Le Cong Thanh, General Director of InfoRe Information Technology Company, who participated as speakers. To kick off the program, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh had some words of encouragement for the students of the Faculty of Information Technology and Telecommunications: “You are the first generation of students of the Faculty of Information Technology and Telecommunications, with great expectations and attention from the Board of Directors and the whole university. As pioneers, you bear a lot of responsibilities, but rest assured that this journey will always have the companionship and support of all the teachers.” Following the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Vice Rector of CMC University, provided a brief introduction to the vision, mission, and educational goals of CMC University, as well as the learning path and faculty of the Faculty of Information Technology and Telecommunications (IT&TT). Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung stated that the faculty of the department consists of Associate Professors and PhDs with extensive teaching and research experience in the field of Information Technology. They are ready to provide fundamental and in-depth knowledge to students in the upcoming academic years. In the second part of the program, the two speakers, Dang Tung Son and Le Cong Thanh, along with Associate Professor Nguyen Thanh Tung, shared practical insights and valuable lessons on mastering AI and applying AI in learning, research, and work. Regarding the future income level of the Information Technology industry, Mr. Le Cong Thanh, the CEO of InfoRe Information Technology Selection Joint Stock Company, stated: “Information technology is currently developing rapidly. If we see the world, there are many wide-open opportunities. A salary ranging from 1000-2000 USD is no longer considered too high for this field, provided that we have the competence to work in the international market.” Sharing insights on the skills and knowledge that students need to enter the job market after graduation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung stated: “Technology trends change very rapidly, and the Faculty of Information Technology & Communication has the task of building a training program that provides critical thinking skills. This ensures that when students encounter changes in the future, they can easily adapt with the foundational knowledge acquired during their university studies. The Faculty of Information Technology & Communication at CMC University has collaborated with many businesses, most recently with CMC Global, to understand the requirements for designing the training program. This includes knowledge of back-end, front-end, mobile programming, AI & big data, etc. With such knowledge, combined with courses like Project Practice, business semester, I believe that students will have the necessary skills and readiness to enter the job market.” Answering the question of how to avoid the risk of unemployment with the development of AI, Mr. Dang Tung Son, Deputy General Director of CMC Telecom, shared: “Statistics show that after each generation, there will be an additional 60% of new jobs that have never appeared in the previous generation. So, there is no need to worry too much. Applying AI to various fields is inevitable to increase labor productivity, and we have no choice but to ‘re-learn.’ The most important thing is to create a difference, not necessarily to be better, but sometimes being more attentive is already a significant difference. Alongside expertise, two crucial skills to have are English and teamwork. If given the opportunity to become a team leader, seize it immediately. These are the skills that will enable students to create distinct values for themselves.” In particular, the ICT Integration Program and the “AI & Gen Z Future” workshop utilized the C-Meet technology application, a product of the CMC Technology Application Research Institute (ATI), throughout the attendance check-in and interaction process between students and speakers. Sharing his feedback on using the C-Meet app at the event, Nguyen Minh Duc, a student in the Information Technology field, said: “The attendance check-in and asking questions to the speakers are very easy, quick, and convenient. I think this is a very suitable application for use in large, crowded events to save time for participants.”
